Simple Ways to Celebrate the Spring Equinox

Updated: Mar 17, 2022

The Spring Equinox is a powerful seasonal day, celebrated by ancient peoples all throughout human history.

I really encourage you to find some time around Equinox to pause & celebrate this meaningful seasonal shift. Here are a few simple ways you can celebrate this sacred day:

Greet the Sun

Spring is associated with dawn & new beginnings. After the Spring Equinox, the light overtakes the dark, the sun is now more powerful than the night. Greet the Sun, get up at dawn if you want to. Sun worship is an ancient practice. Whether you want to greet the Deva of the Sun, or just absorb the warm spring rays, it's all good!

Look for signs of Spring

Plan a special Spring Equinox walk to look for signs of spring. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you'll see the many spring walks I have been sharing

What are your favourite trees, bushes & flowers blooming right now? Take note of all the beautiful things budding in your neighbourhood. Continue walking & watching them throughout the spring, see how things morph & change.

Make a plan

I no longer want to be the person who looks back in a year and wishes I'd started a year ago! Each spring I now may my plans in accordance with the wheel of time. I set out my spring actions for my plans for the year, so my dreams can bloom and blossom and I can reap the harvest and take the seeds with me into the winter to start the cycle all over again!

Make a plan of everything you’d like to see blossom & grow in your life & business. Make some fun plans for the upcoming months of spring & summer. Send energy into the world to help manifest your wishes.

Make an offering

Our current world is built upon the premise of indefinite growth, progress and expansion. This is not a consciousness that helps the promotion of health and wholeness. Recognising that the growth and expansion phase is a part of wholeness, but that we much also expect contraction and loss, makes it all the more meaningful to express gratitude for spring. Light a candle, leave out food to supplement the birds and mammals in your garden, plant some seeds for flowers or vegetables and welcome the Spring Goddess into your life.
